Thruxton Circuit

Village, Church, Brooklands… then hard on the brakes into Club chicane.

Thruxton is the fastest circuit in the UK and at 2.356 miles is also one of the longest.

History

The circuit is located 5 miles west of Andover in the county of Hampshire and was originally built in 1940 as RAF Thruxton. During 1942 and 1943 the airfield was used by many different RAF squadrons. In 1944 the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) arrived. The airfield was used during World War II for various purposes including operations during the D-Day landings.

1950 saw the arrival of motor racing, initially bikes and then in 52, cars.

Thruxton now plays host to a number of different racing categories and high profile championships such as the MCE British Superbikes and the British Touring Cars.
