Journey through the house and gardens as Gilbert White’s open the pages of The Natural History of Selborne and bring your imagination to life, learning more about the creatures which 18th century naturalist Gilbert White identified, and how we can protect them today. White’s Eco Light Festival runs from 20 November – 20 December 2025, Thursdays to Saturdays, 16:30 to 20:00.
This year’s trail also expands into the Antarctic Gallery.

Marwell’s majestic grounds have turned into a twinkling wonderland full of fairy lights, magic and delight.
Glow Marwell 2025 invites guests to explore the zoo in a whole new light with more than 250,000 LED bulbs making up the wonderful illuminations. Look out for the Enchanted Tree 🍄🌳.

Visitors to Hampshire’s Watercress Line can ride the colourful Steam Illuminations train this winter season for a magical journey filled with festive fun.
The Christmas sound and light show, featuring a constantly changing display of colourful computer-controlled LED lights outside and inside the heritage steam train, will run from November to January. Check out the photo gallery from 2022.
