Consultation begins for Winchester Sport and Leisure Park at Bar End

In the first meeting of a new Cabinet Committee leading on the Sport & Leisure Park project at Bar End, it was announced that architects appointed by Winchester City Council were commencing a stage of public consultation to develop an Urban Design Framework for the area. Five public ‘drop in’ sessions will take place from 23 June.Cllr Lisa Griffiths, Winchester City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Sports & Physical Activity said,

“The accent has very much been on public engagement throughout this project. In this phase of consultation, architects from Stride Treglown and LA architects are looking at the broader park area that will house the leisure centre and are keen to hear the aspirations of residents, future users and businesses in the location. The sessions will help build a picture of how different groups see the future of the whole site and inform the development of an Urban Design Framework.”

The architects will be available in the meeting room and café at The University of Winchester Sports Stadium, Bar End, SO23 9SQ, for anyone interested to ‘drop-in’ between the following times:
Friday 23 June 16:00-18:00
· Saturday 24 June 10:00-12:00 & 14:00-16:00
· Thursday 29 June 15:00-17:00
There is an additional ‘drop-in’ opportunity at the Winchester Guildhall on:
· Friday 23 June 11:00-14:00
