Winchester CycleFest and Criterium 2015

Winchester CycleFest invites you to bring your bike to the Broadway, Winchester, and join in fun cycling activities from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 7 June 2015.

This free event, hosted by Winchester City Council, brings a range of exciting cycling activities from pedal-powered Scalextric to a cycle stunt display, and from a mountain-bike track to toddler bikes. There is something for everyone.

The ‘Zero Gravity’ cycle stunt team will offer excitement and inspiration. Come along to see this jaw-dropping display of electrifying talent, guaranteed to thrill with balancing skills, twists, turns and back-flips.

Why not try out a unique experience by riding a custom-built smoothie-making bike and pedalling your way to a delicious drink?

There will also be cycling information stands and the chance to repair your bike with Hargroves and get your bike security-marked.

Cllr Frank Pearson, Winchester City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Environment, Health and Wellbeing, said: “This is set to be a brilliant day, providing exciting cycling activities for all to enjoy. What a wonderful way to spend the day with your family in the lead up to the Winchester Criterium.”

The CycleFest runs alongside the Winchester Criterium. Now in its third year, the Criterium promises spectacular, fast and furious cycle racing through the streets of Winchester.

Visitors can experience exhilarating races at close quarters with riders sprinting out of Winchester’s historic street corners.

Thousands of people lined the streets last year to witness this Formula One-style cycling event and it is expected that many more will watch the races this time.
