Katherine Jenkins comes to Embley

Katherine Jenkins OBE is coming to Romsey and is set to perform a Summer Concert of stunning classical music, musical theatre and a Proms finale, with orchestra, at Embley Park on the evening of Sunday 22 August.

The Welsh superstar Mezzo Soprano officially became the world’s most successful classical singer after she was crowned ‘The Biggest Selling Classical Artist of the Century’ by Classic FM. She further cemented her title by gaining her 14th Number 1 album smashing the record books since signing to Universal Classics at the age of 23.

She will be joined on the evening by a special guest, West End star, John Owen-Jones, best known for his record-breaking performances as Valjean in Les Misérables and the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera.

The concert is part of the fund-raising weekend, A Celebration of Speed, raising funds for two important causes, Sir Jackie Stewart’s charity Race Against Dementia and local children’s hospice Naomi House and Jack’s Place.

Embley at Embley Park, located on the A27 just outside Romsey, was once the family home of Florence Nightingale and provides wonderful, spacious grounds for what promises to be a very special evening.

Event Director, Mike Turnbull said: “We are really thrilled to have Katherine Jenkins headline such a prestigious event for us. She is a such a unique talent, and it is very special to have her perform for us here in Romsey and help raise funds for two such important charities.”

Guests are invited to come to the event and enjoy a two-course supper by Michelin Star chef Tom Kerridge’s team and wines by Berry Bros & Rudd with a charity auction hosted by Charles Hanson, or purchase VIP hampers or picnic boxes to enjoy prior to the concert.
