What a sensational Sunday of racing right here in Hampshire! The crowds packed out Thruxton Circuit for Sunday’s main events at Round 7 of the British Superbike Championship, and the high-speed action delivered.
The undisputed star of Sunday was Ryan Vickers for Honda Racing UK, who completely dominated the afternoon to complete an unforgettable Sunday double!
Here’s how Sunday’s action unfolded for our featured riders:
Ryan Vickers: The man to beat on Sunday! He fought through a frantic five-rider train to snatch a brilliant victory in Sunday’s morning Sprint race. He then backed it up in the final feature race with a breathtaking last-lap dive at the Club Chicane to secure his perfect Sunday double by just 0.075 seconds!
Bradley Ray: He secured a fantastic 3rd-place podium finish in the morning Sprint race, and went even better in Sunday’s final feature race – pushing Vickers all the way to the line to finish a close 2nd.
Scott Redding: Pushed his Hager PBM Racing Team Ducati to the limit in Sunday’s Sprint race, leading early on and securing a fantastic 2nd place on the podium. Misfortune struck him in Sunday’s final race, however, with a first-lap crash at the final chicane ending his day early.
Kyle Ryde: Had a fiercely competitive Sunday to protect his championship advantage. He missed out on the podium with a hard-fought 4th in the Sprint, but bounced back brilliantly in Sunday’s final feature race to claim a crucial 3rd place podium finish.
